16 lb brown trout
Ron Grubbs from Missouri landed this 16lb. monster after a 45 minute battle - and he did it with a 2lb. test leader tied to the end of his line. Believe it or not!

22lb brown trout
This once in a life time brown tipped the scales at 22.5lbs. and was caught, then released by this sportsman. Way to go!

How Big Do They Get? - Any trout weighing four or more pounds is considered a trophy. But several trout per year are caught which weigh far more than four pounds. The current All Tackle World Record brown trout is 40 pounds, 4 oz. That Arkansas trout was caught not far from here in the Little Red River. Two brown trout weighing slightly less hold the number two and number three positions for the All Tackle World Records. They were both caught here in the North Fork River where we frequently fish. The largest rainbow ever recorded in the White River weighted 19 pounds, and the largest cutthroat weighed 9 pounds. The largest brook trout weight 5 pounds and was caught in the North Fork River.

13 lb brown trout
Mark from Chattanooga TN landed this 13lb. brown on 4lb. test line during the month of October

14 lb brown trout
This 14lb. brown was caught and released below Bull Shoals Dam in the catch and release area. It was landed using a 2lb. leader and egg pattern fly.

What Does It Take? - Catching a trophy trout is hard work. Unlike our Fast Action fishing trips, the number of fish you will catch on a trophy trout fishing trip will be few. In fact you may go several hours without a bite at all. Big trout are smart and wary. They did not get to the size they are without considerable experience on a hook. Therefore it takes incredible patience to catch one of these big guys by means other than pure luck. We don't recommend trophy fishing for anyone other than those who are very serious about catching a huge trout. But if that is what you want, we're behind you 100 percent! All of our guides have caught their share of monsters so they know how to do it.

conference room
Need a meeting room? Fisherman's Lodge has one! There's seating for 50 to 75 persons depending on how you set it up. An excellent meeting or party room.

When They Hit, You Know It! - As tough as it is to hook a trophy trout, the effort is well worth it. The power of these fish is incredible and it is a real battle to net one. And when you do, there will be no doubt that you earned it. The skill required to handle a big trout in a strong current does not come easily. It is a team work effort between you and your guide. It is this teamwork, coupled with experience and knowledge of big fish habitat and feeding habits, that you'll get from our guides.
